Way Out West is a trio of singer-songwriters (Tom Poley, Emmy Creigh, and Bill "Slim" Rost) who are creating their own brand of Western music: Bordergrass! 

Bordergrass songs range from cowboy ballads to two-step to Mexican polkas. Bordergrass songs are about the Southwest, the border, and border issues. Instruments are, mostly, acoustic, including bunkhouse bass, guitar, mandolin, cascabelles, banjo, and accordion! Way Out West has taken bordergrass music from Nogales, Arizona to Telluride, Colorado; from El Paso, Texas to Quartzite, Arizona; to Münich, Ulm, Dasing, and Solingen, Germany; and to Thun and Zurich, Switzerland.
